Short answer

You can control the file you upload. You cannot audit Discord’s private storage from a downloaded attachment. If GPS or camera identity would be a problem in that server, strip them first.

Discord is a sharing surface, not a vault. Screenshots, phone photos, and game clips all travel as files other people can download.

The useful split is: what you send versus what another user can save. A lab measurement only covers the second when we have a dated run.

Video size limits are a different job from metadata. Use the local video compressor when the problem is megabytes, not GPS.
