Office property parts in DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX
Office property parts in DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX?
A stored DOCX built for this session kept the sentence GapBodySentenceCPK after the core, app, and custom property parts and their package relationships were removed, and the fields read before that removal were title, creator, company, template, and one custom property.

The three parts
Office Open XML packages are zip files. The reader looks for word/document.xml, xl/workbook.xml, or ppt/presentation.xml, then reads docProps/core.xml, docProps/app.xml, and docProps/custom.xml. The strip deletes those three parts, drops Relationship tags whose Target is one of them, and drops the matching Override lines in [Content_Types].xml.
Before the DOCX strip, the fields were Title GapTitleCPK, Creator GapCreatorCPK, Company GapCompanyCPK, Template GapTemplateCPK, and GapCustomName GapCustomValueCPK. Afterward, afterPartsPresent was empty and bodyKept was true.
Desktop inspector, wider and still incomplete
Microsoft tells you to run Document Inspector on a copy: File, Info, Check for Issues, Inspect Document, then Inspect, Remove All, and Reinspect or Close. Document properties include Summary, Statistics, and Custom, and also email headers, routing slips, and the template name. That is more than three XML parts. It is still not the whole file. Use the browser tool when you want those three parts gone without sending the file, then open the result in Word if you also need the inspectors this page does not run.
The tool is Office document metadata. The sending guide is Remove metadata from a Word document.

Questions
Did the spreadsheet and the deck behave the same way?
Yes for the property parts. Stored XLSX and PPTX packages lost core, app, and custom, and their body markers GapSheetCPK and GapSlideCPK stayed. A deflated DOCX lost the same parts.
Is the package then free of personal information?
No. Comments, hidden text, headers, footers, and the document body are outside this strip. Microsoft says the Hidden Text inspector itself misses white text on a white background.
