What the session file showed

A stored DOCX built in this session carried Title GapTitleCPK, Creator GapCreatorCPK, Company GapCompanyCPK, Template GapTemplateCPK, and custom property GapCustomName equal to GapCustomValueCPK. After the strip, none of those three property parts were present, and the body still contained GapBodySentenceCPK. The same removal worked on a deflated copy of that package. The numbers are in docs/evidence/runs/2026-10-21-gap-session.json.

That is a package rewrite, not a claim about every comment or header. Compare the two files on the verify page, and read the Office notes and the Word guide.

What Microsoft’s inspector covers

Microsoft’s Document Inspector is opened from File, then Info, then Check for Issues, then Inspect Document. It applies to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Microsoft says to inspect a copy because it is not always possible to restore what Remove All deletes. The Document Properties and Personal Information inspector covers the Summary, Statistics, and Custom tabs, plus email headers, routing slips, template name, and username.

The Hidden Text inspector finds text formatted as hidden in the Font dialog. Microsoft says it cannot detect text hidden by other methods, for example white text on a white background. The Invisible Content inspector cannot detect objects covered by other objects. This page does not do those inspections.

Questions

Does this upload the document?

No. The file is unzipped in this tab. The download is a new zip built here.

Which parts are removed?

docProps/core.xml, docProps/app.xml, and docProps/custom.xml, plus Relationship and content-type entries that point at those parts.

Does that remove comments and hidden text?

No. Comments, hidden text, headers, footers, and the document body stay. Microsoft’s Document Inspector is the desktop tool that looks at a wider set, and even that inspector does not see white text on a white background.
